Sunshine Balm – literally sunshine in a jar. Natural facial skin & body repair balm. Bring a little summer back into the cold damp days of fall and winter. Sunshine Balm is an oil based gel balm created to provide increased moisture for skin dryness associated with the changing temperatures of fall and winter. This balm is the perfect way to address annoying skin dryness around the delicate skin of the eyes and mouth, between the fingers, chapped or dry tops of the hands, cuticles, and any other areas that require a little extra TLC.
Infused with a variety of organic and wild, sun loving herbal flowers – yellow yarrow, calendula, dandelion, and elderflower – these sun worshipping herbal flowers are slow solar infused into organic sunflower oil and then blended with a number of highly moisturizing, skin soothing oils. Sea buckthorn seed oil and virgin rosehip seed oil, chosen for their high levels of alpha and beta carotene, which are loaded with antioxidant micronutrients that help to increase the skin’s ability to defend itself against UV radiation, improving over all skin health and appearance; neossance squalene, whose anti-inflammatory properties have been shown to reduce redness and swelling; meadowfoam oil, the emollient properties of which seal in moisture and improve skin softness and suppleness, while naturally balancing skin sebum production (for facial use); and golden jojoba oil, an incredibly hydrating, long lasting moisturizer that closely mimics the oil naturally produced by our own bodies.
This balm has a gel like consistency, created by the addition of cera bellina wax (a wax derived from beeswax), allowing from super smooth application and quick absorption, while the humectant qualities of raw Vancouver Island beeswax ensure the moisture provided from all other ingredients remains locked into the skin, addressing dryness and increasing hydration. Scented with an all natural, 100% essential oil blend of neroil, fir, copaiba, lemon, immortelle, and ylang ylang, this balm has a beautiful summery orange colour (reminiscent of organic, free range farm fresh eggs from happy hens), and a subtle, freshly citrus and white floral scent.
